I'm a novice when it comes to web-hosting set up. When I first set up my blog I literally did the step by step directions on Blogspot and started writing. 4 years later, I'm really not that much better, I hate to say. My focus is on writing for the 3 blogs I have and social media updating. Whew! That keeps me busy enough!
I use GoDaddy.com for the web hosting on my main blog and I like it! I've been with them for about a year now. They had the .com I wanted and set me up with my e-mail address with no hassles. Yes, Go Daddy is the giant of the web hosting
service industry, many times larger than any other domain registrar.
They own upwards of 45 million domain names and the number is on the
rise. But with those numbers, they definitely know what they are doing and their prices are reasonable.
If there is a domain name that you want, if it isn't immediately available, they will put it on back order and notify you when it comes open for the best chance of getting it. Also, you can peruse their catchiest domain names at the domain auction they have. Right now they have a sale where you can get a domain name for just $1.99! I guarantee that you can't obtain a name for that price from any other company.
I want to switch to Wordpress very soon and GoDaddy does it for you. You don't have to worry about anything! I like the convenience of having everything in one package, the domain name, hosting, and email all in one convenient package.
I don't have a lot of time to wonder about what to do about my webpage set-up and I would like to have a trustworthy company that can worry about that for me. Maybe someday I'll become a little more knowledgeable about web-page set up and I can do more on my own. But for now, I choose Go-Daddy!
